Would you mind opening the app, shaking the device to bring up the Logbook, setting the level to DBG, closing the Logbook and repeating the procedure, activating Biometrics, signing out, signing back in (without quitting the app), then bringing up the Logbook again with a shake? This might reveal what's happening.
